COMMANDER THIBODEAU'S VETERNS DAY MESSAGE

Dear AMVETS family and friends,

In his Proclamation in 1957 President Eisenhower called upon the citizenry to “observe Veterans Day, in tribute to those who have thus added strength to the Nation and in renewed dedication to their work, building peace with honor among all nations.”

The observance of Veterans Day on November 11 preserves the historical significance of this date and helps focus attention on the important purpose of Veterans Day: A celebration to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.

On Veterans Day 2019, I invite everyone to join with Sons of AMVETS across the country in honoring all Veterans and active military personnel for their inspiring commitment to duty and faithful service to our great country.  Our freedoms are a result of their everlasting dedication to protecting America every day. Thank you, Veterans!

May God bless you all and may God bless the United States of America.

Sincerely,

Richard H. Thibodeau
Commander
National Sons of AMVETS
